"Sparrow's Door Lock," directed by Makoto Shinkai, is a huge hit film currently being shown nationwide.
The places (sacred sites) that appear in the film are located in the Sanriku region of Iwate Prefecture, so I'd like to introduce them to you.
Thank you to everyone who came all the way from outside the prefecture to visit us.
Features connected to the film, such as the "back door" and the "chair missing a leg," were maintained with the cooperation of local residents.
When you come here, we hope you will enjoy seeing, touching, taking photos, and experiencing the world of film on a deeper level.
1. Sanriku Railway Origasa Station
(Orikasa No. 12, Yamada-cho, Shimohei-gun, Iwate Prefecture)
There are notebooks available in the station building, allowing visitors to write their own words.
2. Yamada Bay Observation Plaza, where the "Urato" that appears in the film is located
(111-9, Orikasa 11th District, Yamada-cho, Shimohei-gun, Iwate Prefecture)
It is installed at the Origasa Observatory. The rear door is very well made and looks very close to the image in the movie.
3. "Urato" near the radio tower on the site of Suzume's family home
(Aka-mae, Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture)
There is a parking lot at Miyako Sports Park nearby, so if you park your car there you will be able to see the radio tower.
You can get there on foot.
This rear door is also very well made.
(Special thanks to Satodate-san of the Iwate Reconstruction Support Team for providing photos and information)
